A Quick Habitat Update

1/17/2012 12:00:00 AMThe past few weeks have been just simply tremendous for our affiliate and the families we serve.  It would take just a ton of time to completely fill all of you in on the happenings from these last weeks, but I wanted to give you all a few of the really exciting things that have been happening at Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County.
  • A $35,000 gift from Wells Fargo Housing Foundation to support our upcoming build in Noblesville!
  • Tom Wood Automotive Group and Tom Wood Ford joined our Community Corporate Partners Program and donated a Ford F-150 4x4 pickup truck to our affiliate to use in a myriad of ways!  This is an awesome gift and we are so very thankful to have them as partners!  In addition, Chris Matchett, the GM of Tom Wood Ford, is interviewing right now with our Board leadership team as he has expressed interest in joining our team and helping to further the mission and ministry of Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County! Great news!
  • With respect to the truck donation, we also gained another new friend and member of the Community Corporate Partners Program - CSI Signs designed, fabricated, and installed a fully branded Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County wrap on the truck!  Please check out the article on our home page to see pictures of our new truck!
  • The Legacy Fund, a community foundation based in Hamilton County that is committed to bringing neighbors together to address community issues and priorities, to connecting donors with their charitable interests and passions and to making the act of giving a more meaningful and effective gesture for donors, has chosen to once again support and partner with Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County!  Our affiliate received a $12,000 grant to support the work of Gretta Troyer, our Family Services and Volunteer Coordinator!  A huge thanks to our friends at the Legacy Fund!
  • Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County is please to announce that we have been awarded a grant from Duke Energy!  Mark LaBarr and his team at Duke Energy have been steadfast supporters of our affiliate and we can't thank them enough for their tremendous generosity and continued support!
  • In the last 8 weeks, we have had close to $9,000 in sales via our virtual ReStore!  The ReStore, a discount home improvement store, sells quality new and like new cabinets, building supplies, tools, major household appliance and much more.  Our ReStore's inventory comes from accepting tax deductible donations from individuals, corporations, and other organizations throughout Hamilton County and 100% of the proceeds from the ReStore sales support the affiliate's mission in Hamilton County.  A huge thanks to all of our donors and supporters of the Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County ReStore!  To learn more about our ReStore, please check out http://www.habitathamiltoncounty.org/restore/.
  • Our affiliate has once again partnered with the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation in the donation of a property to our affiliate!!  Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation donated the property located at 350 South Washington Avenue in Cicero, Indiana to our affiliate in mid-December and we couldn't be more proud to continue our partnership with this truly engaged and giving community corporate partner.
These are just a few of the many wonderful things that are taking place at Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County!  We can't thank our partners and friends enough for their tremendous support and we are simply blessed to have so many great and generous partners!

As always, I look forward to your thoughts and feedback.  Thank you for your time and support of our affiliate and our families!
