Update on recent Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County happenings
11/6/2011 12:00:00 AMThe last 4 weeks have been absolutely awesome for Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County and the families we serve. It would take many pages and many words to completely fill all of you in on the happenings from the last weeks, but I wanted to give you all a few of the really exciting things that have been happening at Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County.
- Northview Church joined Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County, through Northview's Weekend of Service, for our first neighborhood revitalization project in Cicero, IN. The team from Northview worked hand-in-hand with our team as we worked on our current home build project and two other projects for Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County homeowners. It was a great day and we can't thank our Northview Church partners enough for their support and participation.
- In addition to their work with us during the Weekend of Service, Northview Church and Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County will soon be embarking on a new, multi-year partnership in which we'll work together to build two new Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County homes over the next 3 years! This is awesome news and we are thrilled to partner with the members of Northview Church! There is plenty more to come about this new partnership, so check our new website frequently to check out the details of this partnership.
- Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County and our friends at Carmel United Methodist Church and St. Mark's United Methodist Church will soon be announcing the details of a new and exciting partnership between our organizations! I can't wait to release the details of this partnership and check back soon for more details! A huge thanks in advance to Patti Payntor, Liz Rix, Richard Carriger, and the entire congregations of Carmel UMC and St. Mark's UMC for their tremendous and generous time and support of our affiliate and our families!
- Brian Moore of Tom Wood Automotive Group and the leadership of Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County are working on the details of a new and exciting partnership that will tremendously help our affiliate function and grow! A sneak-peak view of this partnership is that Tom Wood Automotive Group will be providing our affiliate a huge asset that will allow us to dramatically improve our affiliate's ReStore business and provide for us a means of transportation and visibility that we have never had and sorely need! More to come, but we simply can't thank Brian and the whole team at Tom Wood Automotive Group enough! Those folks are simply top notch!
- We have had some wonderful build partners recently. They have been awesome and have done a great job! A few of our friends and partners are: Dauby, O'Connor & Zaleski, Banc-Serv, Lowe's of Carmel, Grace Community Church, Orchard Park Presbyterian, the Legacy Fund, St. Luke's United Methodist Church's World Missions team, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Ent : Imler, and Horizon CPA Group.
- Here is a recap of just a few of the tremendous meetings that we have had in the last month: Mayor John Distlear of the city of Noblesville, Larry Riggs of Community Bank, Angie and Mike of the Planning and Zoning Department for the City of Carmel, Mark McConaghy of the Noblesville Housing Authority, the Hamilton County Commissioners, Grace Community Church, Pastor Steve, K Paul, Adam, and our friends at Northview Church, Mark LaBarr of Duke Energy, Steve Hardin of Banker and Daniels, Mike Scheetz of Century 21 Scheetz, Wells Fargo, and HAND Inc.
- Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County is please to announce that we have been awarded a grant from Duke Energy! Mark LaBarr and his team at Duke Energy have been steadfast supporters of our affiliate and we can't thank them enough for their tremendous generosity and continued support!
- Last week, we had over $2,000 in sales via our virtual E-Store! What a huge week for our affiliate and thanks to all of donors and supporters of the Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County E-Store! To learn more about our E-Store, please check out http://www.habitathamiltoncounty.org/restore/.
- Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County, via the support of the Hamilton County Commissioners and our friends at the Noblesville Housing Authority, has acquired another property in which to build on! The lot at 766 South Ninth Street in Noblesville currently has a partially burned home on the land, but our affiliate will be removing this building and prepping the land to build a new Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County home with one of our partner families!
These are just a few of the many wonderful things that are taking place at Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County! We can't thank our partners and friends enough for their tremendous support and we are simply blessed to have so many great and generous partners!
As always, I look forward to your thoughts and feedback. Thank you for your time and support of our affiliate and our families!
