Hamilton County residents with children, there are plenty of great places to send your kids for camp without driving for hours and hours! It's always worth looking into summer camps, whether you think it's too late or too early to register.
A great place to start is with municipal programs put on by each of the communities:
- Noblesville Parks and Recreation offers a summer day camp with programs such as their Sports Sampler, Cheerleading Camp, Golf Camp, and even a Super Heroes Camp. They take place in scenic Forest Park.
- Fishers Parks and Recreation has an extensive program as well, with sports, water, outdoor exploration, nature, art, and more.
- Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation's catalog includes basketball camp, performance camps for budding actors and singers, and even a program called "Majority RULES" about democracy, campaigns, elections and voting!
There's also a ton of summer camps run by the Fishers YMCA and Hamilton Southeastern Schools. There's even a summer camp program in the Westfield Washington School system. And if you're looking for something unusual, check out Camp Invention, sponsored by the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Many organizations sponsor summer camps as well. The Indianapolis Sailing Club has a junior training program for children 8 to 15 years of age. Conner Prairie Interactive History Park also offers space camp, archeology camp, and more.
There's no excuse for missing out on summer camp experiences in Hamilton County. There's plenty to do!
